This approval highlights the impact of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) as a pathway for immigrants who have suffered abuse from a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident family member. VAWA allows survivors to apply for permanent residency without requiring the involvement of their abuser, offering a secure route toward residency.

 

In this case, our client endured emotional and psychological abuse from their spouse. Although these forms of harm can be challenging to document, they are fully recognized under VAWA. We worked closely with our client to compile personal statements. By carefully gathering and presenting this evidence, we successfully demonstrated the client’s eligibility under VAWA and secured their approval.
