New 2024 Changes to Immigration Fees
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently announced a final rule regarding adjustments to application fees for specific immigration benefits, slated to take effect on April 1, 2024. Notably, some fee hikes, including those for premium processing, will be implemented as early as February 26, 2024. Additionally, there will be an increase in H-1B lottery registration fees for the 2024 lottery. The bulk of these fee adjustments predominantly impact employment-based and family-based applications. Furthermore, USCIS has introduced fee exemptions for numerous humanitarian applications, such as those for VAWA, U-visa, and T-visa, filed after April 1, 2024, thereby waiving the need for payment to the Department of Homeland Security.
